The effects of Day, Night and Different Light
Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland…
Eilean Donan Castle is probably one of Scotland iconic castles and is a well known landmark on the road route to the Isle of Skye. Possibly also well known as the castle used in the 1980′s movie, Highlander. And takes its name from the small island on which it sits, The Island of Donan, said to be named after the 6th century Irish Saint, Bishop Donan. In the right light it is indeed a lovely place.
Reflections Of the Past
The castle though takes on a whole different feel at night with its dual colour floodlighting coupled with a nice reflection from the water in calm weather conditions. No torches needed here, just available ambient light in the sky and the castle floodlights, sometimes, what you have in front of you is all that you need. Anyway I thought it would be interesting to show how different a place can look in day and at night. Learn more about Eliean Donan Castle on the official website.
